For the first CE Perspective, here is a short talk by Suzanne Pierre presented at the University of California Riverside campus in April 2018. This talk was invited for the Healing the Earth Conference organized by the indigenous students of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) at UC Riverside.
In writing this talk, I wanted to address conceptual and practical moves that researchers can make to disentangle the study of the environment from practices and behaviors that erase people and history. I propose some ways to get us thinking about how to "decolonize science", but this is only a starting point for further discussion.
(And pardon the shaky filming and low video quality, content quality will improve once there's a budget...)
